Instant Dhokla


Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 cups gram flour or besan
  • 2 tbsp semolina
  • 1 and 1/4 cups water,
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp soda bi-carb
  • 1 and 1/4 tsp eno fruit salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Tempering:

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2-3 green chllies slit into long pieces
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander

Preparation:

  1. Sift gram flor. Mix gram flour, semolina, water, oil, salt, sugar, turmeric , chilli paste and ginger paste to a smooth batter of a thin pouring consistency. Add eno and soda. Add a few drops of lemon juice, Beat well for a few seconds.
  2. Immediately pour this mixture in the steamer or a dish. Steam for nearly 20 minutes till the dhoklas are soft.
  3. For tempering mix oil, chillies, mustard seeds, water, sugar and lemon juice.
  4. Pour over the dhokla.
  5. Cut into pieces and sprinkle some coriander leaves.
