Poha


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chirwa or beatn rice
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp boiled potatoes
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 pinches hing or asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp haldi powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 green chilli chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander chopped
  • juice of 1/2 lemon

Preparation

  1. Put the chirwa in a strainer and wash it under running water for a few seconds till it gets soaked.
  2. Heat oil. Add hing, then splutter the mustard seeds.
  3. Now add the curry leaves and haldi.
  4. Add salt and red chilli powder
  5. Add onions, tomatoes, peas and green chilli.
  6. Cook for a few seconds.
  7. Add the chirwa and stir occasionally till dry
  8. Add the lemon juice and mix well.
  9. Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
