Whole wheat pizza


Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour or 360 grams whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast or dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 to 1 and 1/2 cup of water

Preparation:

  1. Take 1 tsp instant or dry yeast in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add 1/2 tsp sugar and 1 cup lukewarm water. Mix well.
  3. Next add 3 cups of whole wheat flour, 1 tsp salt and 3 tbsp olive oil.
  4. Also add 1 tbsp lemon juice.
  5. If you do not have olive oil you can use any other refined oil.
  6. Knead the mixture to a fine dough for at least 8 to 10 minutes.
  7. The dough should be smooth and soft.
  8. Spread some water all over the dough
  9. Cover with a lid or kitchen towel and allow to leaven for 45 minutes to 2 hours till the dough increases in volume and doubles up. If using dry yeast, then keep for 2 to 3 hours depending on the tempweature in your city.
  10. The pizza dough will nicely increase in volume and double up.
  11. Knead the dough lightky again and directly make pizzas from these.
